Salary: £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: U.K based. Remote working with some occasional travel into London offices expected

Job Description

The role of IT Project Manager/Business Analyst was formed with the strategic intention to organise and work with our development team and IT functions as we continue to develop a sophisticated, modular SAAS platform. The role will also assess how Dr Julian is performing and help improve our data analytics, processes, and systems. They will oversee and conduct research and analysis to provide detailed data to form the basis of solutions for business problems and help to introduce these solutions to the business and our clients.

The IT Project Manager/Business Analyst is a new role within Dr Julian, offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced individual with hands-on scale-up to work with us to set appropriate outcomes and outputs for the role.

The ideal candidate responsible for the overall success of new and existing IT projects, their requirement definition, supporting quality assurance activities. We have developed and need to continue developing our own propriety secure Web App platform and Mobile App.

Growth and innovation are key elements to this role so we are looking for a confident, self-starter who can visualise the innovative and loves a challenge. The role holder must be someone who is self-motivated by the prospect of creativity and drive to bring these projects to fruition in a timely and efficient manner. The ability to communicate and work effectively with both functional experts and technical team members. Project managing and motivating across teams will be crucial to deliver this vision, so we all pull in the same direction.

Key Accountabilities

  • As IT Project Manager, responsibilities include time and resource management, scope management, issue and risk management, project execution.
  • To direct and monitor the work produced by the team(s).
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, including general, ongoing communications, negotiation of scope and schedule changes, key risks, issue resolution, and ongoing progress reporting.
  • As a Business Analyst, serve as a liaison between functional users and technical staff in the development or modification of typically complex information systems.
  • Lead in definition of user business requirements, assure requirements are appropriately addressed in application implementation, and redefine business processes to maximize application usage as required.
  • Create and execute test plans, performing hands-on functional testing, and leading user acceptance testing.
  • Provide ongoing user support, including troubleshooting and resolution of more complex system issues.
  • Shape client expectations and manage contracts and scope related to the project.

Skills evidence required

  • Must have a broad knowledge of industry best practices and be able to proactively identify potential project risks in order to advise and consult with clients on risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience working as a Project Manager (IT Project management an advantage)
  • Strong working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle Process, including iterative and Waterfall methods
  • Strong process analysis and documentation skills; experience on projects to develop workflow-based enterprise software
  • Experience being both a PM and BA on the same project, managing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Advanced skills in data organization and analysis, problem solving, systems documentation
  • Experience overseeing user acceptance testing and providing test cases
  • Experience working with web application development teams
  • Experience working with JIRA Software (Admin experience an advantage)
