The Role

We are currently recruiting an IT Procurement Analyst to join the team to deliver key accountabilities and responsibilities required of the role whilst providing support as required to the Group IT Procurement Manager and IT Division. The role will have responsibility for management of IT procurement and finance databases, such as the contracts management system and spend and savings tracking tools. Along with responsibility for vendor onboarding and supporting supply chain management.


Key Areas
  • Understanding and production of targeted IT Supply Chain data and reporting
  • Provide data from current systems to other Procurement team members to support IT category and process improvement projects
  • Produce clear and precise delivery of reporting
  • Assist in the resolution of IT procurement issues, liaising with suppliers and internal team members.
  • Support the Group IT Procurement Manager in the management of communications to the business via various channels.
  • Support the IT Category Managers in the measurement of supplier performance and provide monthly reports
  • Organised and clear vendor onboarding, management, and assurance
  • Proficiency in the procurement tools, spend analytics, eSourcing, SAP, supplier assurance, contract repository and pipeline management/tracking
  • Progress own personal development programme, attending training courses as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal/external IT Supply Chain research, analysis, and reporting in order to support informed buying decisions
  • Extract system and market research data to generate business cases and cyclical & ad-hoc reports for key stakeholders
  • Manage the administration of Purchase Order requests for IT Procurement
  • Proactively support the management and facilitation of affiliate agreements, liaising with IT & Finance and wider business stakeholders
  • Proactively track procurement contracts using the e-procurement systems (such as Wax Digital (Medius) and Per Angusta)
  • Create inputs to the Group IT Procurement Manager for the UK Leadership Forum
  • Support the IT Category managers to engage with stakeholders to ensure that IT procurement category strategies are aligned with business objectives and priorities.
  • Support IT Category Managers in the effective supplier management, relationship (SRM) and performance (SPM) to ensure that suppliers' deliver contractual obligations but also seek and deliver continual improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Group IT Procurement Manager to negotiate and agree terms and pricing to deliver low-risk IT procurement projects as identified.
  • Support the IT Category Managers with the selection and onboarding of new suppliers

Person Specification

Essential

  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly a good level of Excel for data manipulation
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at any one time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstration of accuracy and thoroughness; ability to look for ways to improve processes
  • Ability to build credibility with internal stakeholders
  • Developed influencing skills in managing effective working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-developer

Preferred

  • Broad based professional procurement experience (particularly IT) / commercial and financial awareness
  • Experience / working knowledge of project / change management
  • CIPS qualified / working knowledge or experience of end-to-end Procurement process
  • Experience of working in the rail & bus sectors
  • Working knowledge of wider procurement legislation and process
