IT Manager - Christchurch
We have a great opportunity to join a large Defence business, working within the IT and Engineering team. The role is based in Christchurch with hybrid working. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO THIS LOCATION.
The role will require you to be eligible for security clearance. To be eligible for security clearance, you must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working closely with Project Managers and System Designers to deliver full lifecycle system integration projects in MS Windows, MS Servers and Virtualisation, building Secure Networks and Digital Solutions.
- Leadership to a diverse team of 10 to 25 ranging from network, integration, support, testers and engineers. This includes completing 1-2-1 and mentoring.
- Scheduling and resource management of all aspects of the project lifecycle using Jira, Confluence and RTC.
- Adhering to business processes and governance
- Facilitating the evolution of innovation ideas
- Progressing reviews, metrics and onward reporting
- Supporting planning and estimating using MS Project, Excel, Powerpoint
- Managing of technical risks
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree qualification in related (STEM) subject or equivalent experience
- Track record of leading the delivery or support of Enterprise, Project, System or Product level solutions and/or services
- People / team management and mentoring
- Experience with System Engineering tools and processes
- Requirements Engineering and Management techniques
Desirable:
- Ability to produce technical publications, diagrams, slide packs and spreadsheets; track progress and reporting metrics
- Familiarity with planning tools, budgets, costings, and milestones
