The opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Infrastructure Technician to support the implementation, processes, and projects addressing IT Infrastructure operational needs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the physical and virtual Infrastructure is maintained in a professional and secure manner. The Role also encompasses physical support and deployment of Peripherals & physical/ virtual support of Servers, Workstations and Virtual Infrastructure.
This is an ideal role for someone to work with and learn from a small team of skilled technical Analysts.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, recovery, modification, and upgrading of IT systems (Virtual/Physical) and components.
- Physical requirement to maintain, replace and asset tag peripherals. Mobile devices, laptops, computers, servers and any other devices within the role.
- Distributing new or upgraded software, deploying and maintaining environments including configuration and support.
- Responsibility for our Citrix environment, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Ensuring servers are appropriately engineered and secured using best practices for the specific solution or application and performing technical problem resolution and support.
- Administration of multiple hardware platforms.
- Work as part of a team to complete projects arising.
- After hours support.
- Support Active Directory and other Microsoft environments.
- Backup and data life-cycle reporting.
- Patching & compliance maintenance.
- System Builds.
- Provide effective, efficient and professional solutions to all customers’ queries or concerns.
- Provide support and deployment functions outside of normal working hours when required.
- On-Call and overtime working.
Your skills and experience:
- Highly motivated, comfortable working with multiple technologies.
- The ability to work in a team environment and to make a positive contribution to help build our culture.
- Commercial awareness and ability to carry this through daily activities. Our customers’ success will result in our success and everything we do must help our business strive for success.
- Problem Solving skills and a passion for all things IT.
- Experience in Microsoft Server and Applications in virtualized Environments.
- (Preferred but not mandatory) Base certifications (VMware, Windows server etc) and knowledge of Server applications such as SQL, IIS,, SMTP, FTP and others.
- A solid understanding of virtualization (VMware), desirably to include Citrix.
- Good basic knowledge of common web/system security practices & certificates.
- A good understanding of Active Directory and how it relates to the servers/systems is required in addition to a good understanding of DNS and TCP/IP.
- Scripting practices and understanding of utilizing scripts, PowerShell desirable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft O365.
- Knowledge and Experience working with various Dell Technologies would be advantageous.
