We’re looking for outstanding and dynamic Information Technology Graduates to join our graduate scheme to begin in September 2023. Locations
We’re offering Information & Technology Services graduate placements across the following locations for September 2023:
  • France (Paris, Kunnheim, Kayserberg)
  • Germany ( Aschaffenburg, Witzenhausen or Mannheim)
  • UK (London, Milton Keynes)
  • Due to the nature of the programmes, we’ll require full location mobility from graduates to get the most from the programme.
About the programme
Our scheme runs for three years and will give graduates the foundations to succeed within a range of technology disciplines here at DS Smith . All graduates will rotate through 3 placements through the program aligned to personal development journeys, and will provide understanding of our core business areas, technical disciplines, and the opportunity to solve real business problems from the very start of your DS Smith journey . The programme may include placements within the following Information & Technology Services functions.
  • IT Business Partnering – Interfacing with the business, understanding needs, shaping and delivering our digital and data portfolio’s .
  • Digital Security: Using advanced tools, techniques, and procedures, to protect, detect, and respond to the ever changing nature of the cyber security threat landscape
  • Strategic Projects – Delivery of our most critical Information Technology projects for our business .
  • IT Operations – Delivering and continually improving the resilience and scalability of technology services to our business.
  • Solutions Architecture – Helping shape, communicate, and govern the most critical business, data, and technology choices for DS Smith. Exploring our data and technology landscape and emerging trends from IOT to the metaverse and aligning our direction.
Throughout the scheme you will be guided through a rigorous development programme that will provide you with the skills and experiences to succeed within our Digital and Data focused, Information & Technology Services team. Our program is designed to create a pathway to future technology leadership roles here at DS Smith. You will be provided a senior IT leader as a program mentor, will be given first class training to develop leadership & technical capabilities, and you will be empowered to put these into action.
Alongside the role-specific skills you’ll develop within the Information & Technology Services team, you will be part of a large cohort of cross functional graduates from across the business who you will develop your careers alongside, and importantly a community and support network where you can share development experiences.
  • In year one, we’ll focus on understanding yourself, your skills and your strengths and how to maximise your potential.
  • In year two, your development will be about understanding others, how to work effectively in teams and how to lead.
  • In your final year on the scheme, you’ll be given the tools to lead the way, whether that’s in becoming a specialist in your chosen field or leading others to succeed

About you
To be considered for this scheme you must have as a minimum:
  • A degree in a information technology related discipline (or due to achieve this by September 2023). This can include Computer Science, Information Security and Data Engineering).
  • Speak fluently in English and the country you’re applying within (minimum B2 level).
  • Hold the relevant right to work documentation to work within the country you’re applying within.
  • Be fully flexible and geographically mobile
