Working as part of a small team, you will help develop a world class EUC service for UKRI. Using modern principles and philosophies, your aim will be to help create a secure, agile and sustainable way of digital technology management, aligned to changing working patterns and user expectations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • You will be developing the End User Computing (EUC) service as part of the Digital Workspace initiative and have some responsibility for operation of the environment in conjunction with service delivery partners.
  • Maintain sustainable EUC cloud platforms, taking ideas from start to finish, using standard agile delivery methods.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their EUC requirements and find opportunities to improve user experience.
  • Leverage a range of tools and technologies, utilising low-code/no-code, to build solutions that are both human-friendly and operationally efficient.
  • Stay abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies related to device deployment and management.
  • Close collaboration with other technical product areas, namely: Identity, Networks and Platform, who collectively deliver the Enabling technologies roadmap.
  • Support the Security teams enforcing security policy adopting relevant process and tooling.

Person Specification

You will need to be able to demonstrate the following

Demonstrable knowledge and skills in a range of IT areas with a focus on:

Essential

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about modern endpoint management
  • Great customer service skills and compassion for employees’ technical difficulties
  • A wide breadth of technology experience with an active interest in keeping up-to-date with a range of vendors and their products.
  • Proactive self-starter with the interest and drive to push themselves to develop innovative solutions.
  • Be able to investigate and solve problems and document technical solutions.
  • Have the ability to communicate ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Open to ambiguity and able to operate effectively within a changing environment.

Desirable

  • In depth knowledge of EUC tooling with an understanding why we might use them.
  • Understanding of light / zero touch delivery
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, JAMF, Windows and Mac OS.
  • Confident working in a rapid development cycle, willing to try innovative approaches, test and adapt.
  • Have experience configuring solutions on and endpoint management system.
  • Experience using the Service Now ticket management platform.
  • The ability to create, visualise and understand reports and use them to drive decision making.
  • Understanding of endpoint security principles.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework
  • Demonstrate a continual improvement mindset.
