TruTec Services are looking for an experienced IT Engineer to join our Shoreditch team.
Please note that applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and must be based local to London, UK.
Main duties include:
- Providing remote and on-site support for existing clients
- Managing service tickets and overseeing tasks to completion
- Installing and terminating CAT5e cables to a professional standard
- Deploying and administering WLANs and VLANs for events
- Providing support for on-site events
- Maintaining software, computer hardware and peripherals (computers/phones/servers/printers/switches and routers)
- Making sure that employee needs are met as quickly and as professionally as possible
- Monitoring project progress and handling any issues that arise
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
- Software installation and deployment
- Liaising and maintaining a good rapport with clients and third-party suppliers
You must have some technical understanding of:
- Network deployment and testing
- DHCP/DNS
- Windows Servers
- Microsoft Exchange
- PowerShell scripting
- Ethernet cable installation and termination
Essential requirements:
- Availability to work early mornings or late nights, since hours will vary during event days
- Attained or currently completing a qualification in Information Technology/Computer Science or at least 2 years’ experience as an IT assistant/technician
- Must have a genuine interest in technology with a willingness to learn
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Solid organisational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Adaptable and calm under pressure
- Problem solving
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience working commercially within IT and Network support, including LAN/VLAN deployment
- WLAN deployment within the Ruckus SmartZone/Zone Director environments
- Windows experience (Domain controller, Active Directory, Outlook - client set up)
- Experience in web design/programming with HTML/CSS, Perl, SQL, and database management highly desirable but not essential
- PBX/Cisco IP phone management
- Cisco CCNA or Mikrotik MTCNA is also highly desirable but not essential
- A Degree in a computing/networking related subject
