IT Engineer
Responsibilities
As an IT engineer, you will be responsible for the installation of an IT project at customer site, completed both onsite and/or remotely. You will be working with a close-knit group within the project team, as well as with the rest of the technical department. Your role will involve working within our company CRM / PSA to ensure your project is completed correctly and reporting back to management with the completion or result of your work. You will be responsible for managing your own time to ensure the project work is completed within a timely manner and ensuring the customer is satisfied with the project work. Projects can typically include migrations to the cloud, setup and configuration of Azure / Microsoft 365, implementations and onboarding for new clients, installation of Wi-Fi, network configuration such as UTM’s, routers and switches, installation of servers and PC’s, etc.
Daily Activities
- Assisting with planning and the responsibility for the implementation of project work.
- Liaising with the client and discussing the work you will be completing.
- Preparing and provisioning all equipment and licensing that’s required for the project, in advance to carrying out the work.
- Starting the project whether that be onsite or remote, and carrying out until completion.
- Keeping the client up to date throughout the project and managing expectations.
- Confirm the completion of the project with the client and internally within MCS.
- Complete documentation for the project work that’s been carried out.
- Handover of the project to the support team.
- Closing projects once the above is confirmed.
Experience
- A minimum of 24 months in a similar IT job role.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Familiar working with SLA’s & KPI’s.
Skills
- Strong ability to communicate.
- Windows 8/10 installation, configuration and support.
- Microsoft 365 – Full implementation of Microsoft 365 services such as Azure AD, OneDrive & SharePoint, Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams etc).
- InTune and Conditional Access policies.
- Active Directory configuration and management (Windows Server & Azure).
- Windows Server support.
- Networking knowledge of firewall, router, VLAN, Wi-Fi and switch devices.
- Hyper-V and VMware.
- Installation of CAT5e / CAT6 cable.
- Independent expert knowledge of our software tools.
- Ability to offer mentorship to team members.
- Self management of projects/tickets.

Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
