Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an Apprentice IT Engineer with AVAIO LTD an IT solutions provider based in Maidstone, Kent.

Job Description:

AVAIO Ltd is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our ever growing business and be part of an exciting team. As an apprentice you will be serving as first point of contact for clients and resolving issues remotely and providing phone support, as well as device repairs and diagnostics based in our offices in Maidstone, Kent.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email or onsite in a polite and helpful manner.
  • Demonstrate a professional and respectful and proactive approach to customer service.
  • Drive and obtaining new technical knowledge, actively engaging with more senior colleagues to expand your skillset.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques.
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs.
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information.
  • setting up and installing new computers, networks and software.
  • installing updates, known as patches, to software applications.
  • installing and configuring operating systems, anti-virus software and other applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:

  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office.
  • General computer competency.
  • Knowledge in Operating Systems such as Windows, MacOS etc.
  • Knowledge in computer hardware etc.

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Problem solving.
  • Willing to learn more to enhance skillset, enthusiastic to the industry.
  • Forward thinker, always thinking on how to improve processes.
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • Excellent communication, both with fellow employees and to clients.

Future prospects:

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

Training to be provided:

Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
