An exciting opportunity is now available to combine working and learning in our newly formed Development, Integration and Automation team. As part of this role, you will be primarily working within our Automation section, which specialises in Intelligent Automation, Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence. Our team is at the beginning of an exciting and evolving journey, working with technologies, such as Microsoft Power Automate, Power Automate Desktop, Power Apps and Dynamics 365. As part of our team, you will use low-code technologies to automate numerous processes within the organisation, as well as help improve the experience for Barnsley Council's customers. Our team is friendly and enthusiastic. Together, we'll be learning new skills, trying new solutions, making mistakes (which is okay) and supporting each other to correct them. As part of this role, you will also undertake a Software Development Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship with Barnsley Collage. The team and organisation will always support you in your apprenticeship, providing opportunities to gain the experience you need and put into practice what you learn. This is a fantastic eighteen-month opportunity, to gain both experience and a qualification, as well as enjoying working with the latest technology and a passionate and motivated team. What you'll need to join us: To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must meet the following entry qualification criteria: - 4 GCSEs at grades 4-9 (A-C or above) including Maths, English and IT or equivalent. - Willing to undertake an eighteen-month Software Development Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship. We currently operate a hybrid working approach where you'll have access to Westgate (our main town centre office, various outreach buildings and the opportunity to work from home. We operate a 37-hour working week on a flexi-time scheme (7am and 7pm) and coordinate with one another to maintain a level of service cover between the hours of 9am - 5pm Mon - Thurs and 9am - 4.30pm on Fridays.
