JOB PURPOSE
As part of the Business Development function, the IT Business Analyst/Project Leader supports the development of new initiatives through helping business owners understand their business requirements and translating them into tangible IT service deliverables. The role will also provide the leadership in the implementation of some of these deliverables. The role will support a continuous improvement programme for the Maritime Support Business functions within MSC Cruise Management. They include Fleet Operations, Safety Management, Engineering and Vessel Performance Management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project capture, analysis and documents:
- Project/initiative scoping: Identify strategic objectives, stakeholders, ROM cost and effort estimation, and business prioritisation.
- Business Requirements mapping: Objectives, Business Processes, Business rules, functional and non-functional requirements including MoSCoW assessment, issues/constraints/assumptions
- Business Case requirements: project scope, effort assessment, Outcomes definition, the change to be implemented, costs planning, return on investment assessment and business benefits definition.
- Solution design: Service design, supplier assessment
- Service Implementation: Planning, resource mapping, service delivery co-ordination, support to Project Managers and support to businesses in benefits realisation.
Service Delivery:
- Creates delivery plans
- Works with other stakeholders, senior users, technical experts, end users and suppliers to interpret and document the requirements, identify the service deliverables, software, hardware, etc.
- Monitors activities and report progress.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Solid experience with project planning
- Analytical mindset, logical thinker with good organisation skills
- Has experience with technical documentation tools – preferably Sparx Enterprise Architecture
- Established Prince 2 Practitioner
- Prepared to travel to ships, sail and capture requirements / observe operations onboard.
- Flexibility to work additional hours supporting stakeholders across many time-zones to meet delivery expectations
