Head of IT Audit

The role:
As Head of IT Audit, you will be responsible for interfacing with the UK CTO and developing and overseeing the delivery of IT Audit assurance in the UK. This role is a key part of the UK and Global IT Internal Audit leadership teams. With a new UK Chief Auditor on board, we are reshaping the functional strategy which provides you with a unique opportunity to help shape this and audit practices globally. You will also be managing your own high performing team and will support them with their development and progression.
Working with stakeholders at all levels both in the UK and globally you will take responsibility for leading and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues and external professional groups and regulators.
Our ideal candidate will be comfortable providing robust feedback to varying levels of stakeholders, with a curiosity and flexibility to constantly strengthen our working relationships, strategy, and delivery. We’re looking for someone with the proven drive and focus to aid the business to face off to their plans, with the ability to influence positive change and engagement with different business areas.
Our candidate needs to be open to ongoing self-development, able to adapt to innovative approaches and keen to keep technologically aware of emerging new technologies and their use in the business.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Strong track record of working in a similar level role within a large organisation (ideally financial services), with ability to focus on regulatory and specific IT risk insight.
- Proven experience advising, supporting, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong knowledge and experience of IT, particularly digital cloud-based technologies, IT security, operational resilience, and emerging technology application in business.
- Proven management skills to lead and develop IT Audit team members.
It’d also be great – but not essential - if you have:
- Strong track record of supporting audit assurance on full end to end change projects of all sizes.
- A real interest in emerging technologies and keeping abreast of changes / innovations / changes in how to deliver IT audit services including use of Data Analytics and Agile auditing practices.

This role is involved in activities covered by FCA Training and Competence Sourcebook including the need to attain qualifications within agreed timescale as a condition of employment. This requirement forms part of fit and proper assessment for Senior Management and Certification regime certification.
