IT Assistant
The scope of the position is to provide IT technical support to guests and colleagues of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park to support the IT Director and Assistant IT Manager in introducing new technologies in support of the operational and strategic objectives of the property and group. Additionally, the scope included the responsibility for first line IT support to the guests of the hotel.
As IT Assistant you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provides Hotel Guests and Colleagues with 1st Line technical support.
- Assembles and configures network components and associated services.
- Installs and tests necessary software and hardware.
- Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
- Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services.
- Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
- Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
- Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources
- Checking daily backups, all system interfaces, Server hardware and logs.
- Install, configure and maintain computer hardware and software
- Documenting, archiving all correspondence and troubleshooting, follow up suppliers’ visits and maintenance.
- Ensures technology assets are secured.
- Assists in disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
- Installs, monitors, and maintains telecommunications equipment including cabling and providing technical guidance as needed.
- Performs adds/moves/changes/deletions.
- Supports Telephony Infrastructure IP PBX, IP-DECT , Company Mobile phones & Blackberry Handsets.
- Troubleshoots high-speed Internet access problems
- Maintain asset register for all IT assets
- Must be able to operate independently
