About the role

As IT Assistant you will be responsible for providing support to all staff in our 150-person London office. Acting primarily in a first-line support capacity, you will resolve issues in person, over the phone, email or via remote connectivity. The role is varied and requires good client handling and communication skills, time management and multitasking.

ClientEarth is currently finishing a global digital transformation which has involved migrating our on-premises IT infrastructure and services into the cloud and onto the Microsoft 365 environment. The main purpose of this role is to support the smooth IT operation in the London office and provide the required support to the staff and other offices, as required. Given the size of the current global IT team, the role in London will also be required to proactively support the wider organisation in resolving IT issues.

Meet your Manager.

In this role, you will be managed by Vaarun Malik, our Global Head of IT. Vaarun joined ClientEarth in 2021 and is based in London. Prior to joining ClientEarth Vaarun worked as Group Information & Technology Manager for Mastcraft for over 10 years.

Main Duties

  • Be the first point of contact and provide support to all staff for IT queries to ensure a smooth running of our systems.
  • Basic troubleshooting of IT software (particularly Office 365) and hardware problems including phones, laptops, mobile devices, conferencing equipment and printers
  • Daily monitoring of the IT helpdesk dashboard
  • Set up new staff accounts on IT systems, prepare new starters desks and devices.

Role requirements

  • Experience in a customer service/customer-facing role, or with assisting colleagues/users
  • IT Troubleshooting and basic networking experience
  • Good understanding of Windows Active Directory (2019) users and groups
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating system
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products
  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English
