Retrieving and distributing all correspondence, letters etc. both internally and externally for secretarial team. To undertake scanning of patient clinic notes as required by the team following Trust and Departmental policies. To print and send blood forms to patients, as instructed by the Clinicians/Nursing team.
Patients attending clinics not under Patient Access remit are attended on the PAS and coded; queries are dealt with by liaising with the nursing staff. To make or change Outpatient/ Day Case appointments on request, sometimes at short notice and ensure patients contacted and made aware of change. To provide support with the administration of repeat prescriptions by chasing blood results from GPs and other health care agencies, sending out reminder letters to patients as required and ensure that the database is updated with the relevant information for tracking purposes. To support with the administration of Shared Care Agreements (SCA) by scanning the SCA on to portal, updating the SCA database to capture relevant details for tracking purposes and sending SCA with the relevant template letter to the GP.
To convey appropriate information and messages received from patients, colleagues, and managerial staff accurately and timely to the appropriate Professionals and Disciplines as authorised. To provide cover in the absence of the Ward Clerk/Receptionist and Administrator for the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound department.
