Investment Writer - HSBC Asset Management

HSBC Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We are currently seeking an Investment Writer who will sit within Global Investment Strategy Team (GIS), led by the Chief Strategist. This team is responsible for top-down research to support decision-making across the global investment platform, and for creating thought leadership and actionable market insights for clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Work as part of the global investment strategy team to deliver high-quality investment content, including reports, blog articles and ad-hoc material for a wide range of stakeholders
- Communicate macro and investment ideas across HSBC AM’s global front office as well as an external audience
- Regular contributions to publications that GIS produce for external audiences
- Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the role holder is involved
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
We are looking for a talented, ambitious, and intellectually-curious investment writer to join HSBC Asset Management’s global investment strategy team
- Economics-or arts-based Bachelors degree. Additional journalism/financial writing qualifications an advantage
- Experience working as an investment writer in a financial institution or within journalism
- Advanced drafting abilities essential – able to write clearly and concisely on financial market, macroeconomic and geopolitical developments
- Well-developed verbal presentation skills an advantage
- Able to adapt written and verbal presentation to the level of the intended audience, ranging from retail clients to experienced investment professionals
This is a Hybrid working role with the base location as Birmingham. The successful candidate may be required to travel to this location.
