The Team
We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Proposition Analyst to join our Workplace Investment Proposition team on a Permanent contract. Reporting to the Head of Workplace Investment Proposition, the Investment Proposition Analyst will deliver contribution through applying their technical and professional knowledge acquired through previous experience.
The Role
The primary focus of the role is the production of data and analysis to identify trends and support proposition reporting and decisions including design of new propositions and ad-hoc queries. The Investment Proposition Analyst will assist the Head of Workplace Investment Proposition in their role and support data requests from our Distribution team.
Key responsibilities
  • Data collation for IGC/AMT statements and quarterly reporting
  • Assist with proposition questionnaires
Analyse Investment fund data to:
  • Validate and recommend actions for funds on fund review and value for money watchlist
  • Monitor MI to identify trends and share insight with team
  • Assess funds V key criteria such as, cost to Aegon, cost to customer, performance V benchmark and peer group, investment risk
Skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity
  • Skills in Investment and fund analysis in areas such as performance analysis, peer group comparison, risk assessment, correlation analysis
  • Developed capability in data management and analysis using Excel and other tools
  • Evidence based approach with data and analysis
  • Facility to draw insight from analysis, frame the problem, key questions and build out from a blank sheet of paper
Knowledge
  • Awareness of industry performance systems / data providers e.g. Financial Express or Morningstar
  • Investment landscape including fund managers, funds etc.
  • An understanding of fund management practices, retail and institutional fund structures and performance measurement tools are advantageous
  • Awareness of regulations in respect of investments e.g. Investment Rules/TCF/COBS
