Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division builds and maintains close relationships with corporations and governments around the world in order to provide both traditional and innovative solutions that meet their individual strategic and financial needs. The team will work on assignments which include various types of different transactions (M&A, capital markets) and business development projects while interacting directly with senior-level financial and strategic decision-makers at some of the world’s largest corporations, as well as with smaller, emerging growth clients. An ideal candidate would have prior financial industry or investment banking experience.

Responsibilities:
Previous experience in a client onboarding related function preferable (KYC, AML, Financial Crimes or Compliance); understanding of the key risks associated with client onboarding; strong and confident communicator who is able to quickly grasp issues, propose and then deliver solutions.

- KYC/MiFID requirements
- ESG Risk
- AML Compliance, Sanctions, Franchise Risk, PEPs, etc
- Ad-hoc queries
- Regulatory enquiries
- Negative news and sanctions alerts
Develop SME knowledge on IBD Client Onboarding and Risk Management functions.
Provide detailed and clear guidance for EMEA IBD and GCM bankers with all aspects of the onboarding process.
Take ownership for the incoming pipeline and prioritise the most urgent transactions with downstream functions
Monitor the incoming deal pipeline in D2 and initiate the onboarding process with the Deal Team in a timely manner
Flag urgent issues to relevant internal stakeholders
Inbox / query management; escalating urgent issues to appropriate internal stakeholders
Maintain the onboarding status in D2 and pipeline tracker
Respond to RFI from Legal, Compliance and Financial Crimes including:
Review and approve incoming invoices sent by the Finance team. Escalate where issues arise
Prepare regular status updates and metrics for senior management
Perform ad hoc remediation exercises, strategic and tactical controls
Deliver quality results in a timely manner and within required deadlines/time frames
Establish good working relationships with regional teams and internal stakeholders in various jurisdictions
Ability to handle volume spikes and prioritize work including ad-hoc requests and projects to meet business demands in a timely manner
Bring ideas to the table in order to enhance current processes and be willing to drive changes forward
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills required:
Organised, detailed oriented and able to calmly deal with competing priorities in an execution driven environment.
Skilled in quickly analysing complex issues and being able to summarise them to senior stakeholders.
A confident and clear communicator with strong negotiating and influencing skills who can build relationships with all areas of the Firm and at all levels of seniority.
A self-starter who can work independently
Outgoing team player who can manage their time and workload effectively, escalating where necessary and appropriate.
Knowledge of the client onboarding process in an investment banking environment (KYC, AML, PEPs, Sanctions, High Risk triggers etc.); experience in Global Capital Markets (ECM / DCM) highly advantageous.
Knowledge and understanding of the various financial products offered across the business
Sound risk and control mindset, excellent judgement and ability to prioritise
Ability to self-drive projects and deliverables
Problem solving skills to mitigate risks associated with the business
Multi-tasking to handle various business requests and prioritize time accordingly
Ability to quickly digest new information and learn new businesses and processes
