Description
SAIC is hiring a Senior Strategic Communications Analyst with a Top Secret clearance to provide expert communications support for the Deputy Chief Technology Officer for Science and Technology (DCTO(S&T)). The position requires close interaction with DoD Public Affairs Offices including Components, industry partners, academia, and associations. The Senior Communications Analyst will work with the team to achieve organizational goals and objectives by researching and developing communications plans; administering public relations initiatives; advancing S&T programs with relevant constituents (government, industry, academia); and enhancing meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external associations and organizations. This position is hybrid remote with some onsite work in Arlington, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality written products, briefing materials, speeches, presentations, and other public-facing products that convey accurate and compelling messaging
- Facilitate engagement with the S&T enterprise across the DoD
- Research, coordinate, and facilitate all administrative aspects of S&T leadership attending and/or participating in technical conferences and symposia
- Serve as editor for the development, production, and maintenance of the organizations internal and external communication vehicles
- Develop and execute tactical strategic communications plans for customer initiatives and programs
- Manage and monitor engagements with technical and professional organizations
- Coordinate with appropriate DoD agencies for public release of briefings, papers and other communications products
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years' experience; Masters and eight (8) years' experience
- Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
Required Clearance:
- Top Secret clearance required; Ability to obtain TS/SCI required to maintain employment
- US citizenship required
Required Skills:
- Experience working in the defense community (industry, military, government civilian, or contract support)
- Ability to exhibit professionalism and discretion in performing a variety of duties and interacting with various levels of staff across multiple locations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills; proven ability to assess, select, and use a variety of communication methods and tools
- Experience in event planning and coordinating technical speaker panels or similar meetings with diverse participants
- Strong background in preparing, coordinating, and presenting briefings
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
Desired Skills:
- Graduate degree in communications, journalism, or media
- Experience working with small businesses
- General knowledge of DoD S&T activities and organizations
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience providing strategic communications and public affairs support to senior executive level government officials or C-Suite level in the private sector
