What you’ll do
- Participates in the strategic planning process related to inventory management for the Province; develops and implements short and long range inventory management goals and objectives in collaboration with the Provincial Director, Inventory; ensures such plans support the vision, goals and strategic plans of the organization.
- Plans and manages the development, implementation and review of common inventory management policies, standards and procedures in alignment with SSO philosophies and practices; evaluates and effects changes as appropriate to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manages and controls integrated inventory management operations across all sites in BC, ensuring its integrity and efficiency is maintained.
- Manages, administers and serves as the primary operational contact for all inventory related matters including product recalls, emergency response and pandemic inventory planning; consults internally with senior Supply Chain leaders; monitors and evaluates overall provision of services.
- Manages and oversees the development of integrated inventory management processes and methods for project implementation resulting from strategic initiatives, ensuring that initiatives are carried out in accordance with the goals, policies and vision of the organization.
- Develops, plans and implements operating budgets including budget preparation, authorization, control and reporting of expenditures, ensuring the efficient utilization of financial resources.
- Interprets and provides policy direction relative to inventory management across the Health Authorities in the Province.
- Provides leadership to all staff and motivates them towards the attainment of department and organizational goals. Develops and recommends an organizational structure to reflect operational needs and implements methods to measure and assess employee performance.
- Ensures the recruitment and professional development of employees within the department. Responsible to oversee, and as required, participate in the management of human resource matters.
- Ensures the quality of service for customers and maintains Quality Assurance Programs.
- Liaises with vendors and outside contractors to negotiate on behalf of the organization; represents Supply Chain at regular operational review meetings with external organizations as required; and participates on committees as appropriate at provincial and national levels.
- Bachelor Degree in Management, Commerce or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven (7) years related managerial experience with emphasis on replenishment systems, customer relationship management in healthcare or a related environment. Experience at a management level covering a broad spectrum of Materiel Services functions with emphasis on supply chain and inventory management. Experience in managing transition and converting systems particularly in an Inventory / Logistics role. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a multi-site, multi-sector environment.

- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).

Salary Range: $96,429 - $138,617 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
