We have a very interesting role for a qualified Accountant to join us as our Financial Reporting & Control Manager, reporting into our Group Financial Controller.
An opportunity to come in and utilise your skills to achieve the team’s objectives in the best way possible. This role reports into our Group Financial Controller and will offer exposure to work on strategic projects, also working closely with the CFO, Board and Directors across the business.
The purpose of this role is to lead the company’s internal and external financial reporting and associated control processes, including the preparation of the company’s year-end statutory and regulatory annual accounts.
The Financial Reporting & Control Manager must be confident, at all times, with the financial numbers being presented, whether budgets, forecasts or actuals, ensuring they are compliant with the relevant GAAP and regulatory accounting standards. This is a full-time permanent role based in our Hatfield Head office, with an option to work remotely two or three days a week.
You will be expected to:
Ensure the company maintains appropriate financial records and month-end controls.- Lead the preparation of the company’s and group’s monthly reporting and annual statutory accounts/half-year accounts processes to the required standard of quality, accuracy, efficiency and timelines.
- Lead the collaboration with regulatory and other teams to enable the preparation of the company’s annual and interim report and regulatory annual performance report.
- Effectively manage the financial reporting and control team.
- Manage relationships with relevant third party advisors (primarily auditors).
- Lead on monthly reporting to our shareholders and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of legislation and changes to statutory and regulatory accounting guidelines, adjusting processes and reporting as appropriate.
Experience required:
- A qualified finance professional (ACA/ACMA/ACCA/MBA), with significant post qualification experience
- Project Management Skills and team management experience
Detailed knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).- Able to work effectively as part of a team and establish positive professional relationships across the organisation, able to adapt approach to achieve best outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence to challenge and influence to always achieve best outcomes and support change.
- Proven experience coping with deadlines, able to use initiative and will draw from a variety of sources of information in order to make sensible decisions.
- Committed to getting the best results for the business, setting high standards and demonstrating tenacity to overcome obstacles and challenges and ensure the integrity and professionalism of the financial reporting and control team is always maintained.
- Highly proficient IT skills with ability to use Microsoft Office applications and the Oracle system.
