Job description
We are seeking to recruit a Credit Control Clerk to join a small friendly finance team, based at our head office in Hillington.
You will be working in a high volume, fast paced environment working closely with all divisions of the business.
Responsibilities:
- To control and manage the customer accounts assigned, ensuring all collections are made in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers
- Produce account reconciliation and information, both internally and externally, maintaining all customer records and ledger accounts
- Manage incoming and outgoing calls to ensure all customer queries are logged and resolved efficiently
- Undertake administrative duties as required e.g., supply statements, copy invoices, credits, applying credit terms to accounts, legal recovery etc
- Processing payment allocation to the ledger in a timely fashion
- Resolving remittance issues with customers
- Aged debt reporting, weekly banking reporting and weekly bank reconciliation responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices
- Process and log payments to suppliers.
- Record bank receipts and payments, send remittances.
- Assisting with Purchase Ledger and Credit Control duties across the business
- Communicate any discrepancies to the Finance Manager
- Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements
Previous experience in Credit Control – Ideally 2 years minimum
- Experience in a similar role with a Logistics Company would be beneficial
- High level of numeracy
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
- Accurate and a keen eye for detail
- Computer literate – ability to grasp new accounting systems, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc..
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Initiative-taking approach to work
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the finance team and across the business.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
This is a full-time office based position, working Monday to Friday / 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
