About the role

We are looking for an Intervention Worker to join us on the PURE Project, supporting Birmingham City residents to access training, education or employment. Our customers are often vulnerably housed and have complex needs. The interventions we provide, aim to remove barriers to employment and assist our participants to improve their confidence, skills and ultimately reach financial freedom and independent living.

The project is funded by the European Social Fund and you will need to achieve registration and outcome KPI’s set out in the project. You will manage relationships with internal and community venues and develop engagement strategies to help identify marginalised groups that can be supported through the PURE project.

You will work across the city, in a variety of settings and have the flexibility and autonomy to plan your own diary. We do have a PURE team office, which is centrally located, but it is a remote, community based role.

Our participants enjoy engaging with our staff, so we need you to be engaging, empathetic, imaginative and reliable to support them with their needs.

As your employer, we will look after you by paying you in line with the Actual Living Wage, and giving you your Birthday off work every year, which is in addition to your 34 days holiday. We offer you a supportive employee assistance programme, with access to a GP whenever you need one, and a 24/7 support helpline because we know things get tough at times, and we all need some help.

Key Responsibilities

  • To achieve KPI’s and outcomes set out in the project in a timely manner and complete all ESF project registration and outcome paperwork to the highest standard, whilst adhering to quality and compliance guidance.

  • To support a person’s progression using a mix of holistic support, challenge and mentoring techniques, keeping a focus on achieving sustainable employment and/or training/education at all times.
  • To work closely with employer engagement/education and training structures and Employer Engagement Co-ordinators elsewhere in the network of providers and in general, in order to manage the transition into employment.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and ongoing intensive relationship with a caseload of people
  • Deliver an intensive employment focussed offer, addressing barriers to work and supporting them into sustainable employment or training.
  • Provide flexible and client focussed interventions that challenge and mentor.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partners in order to provide effective interventions.
  • Record client progress and gather monitoring information
