RWE Epidemiologist Intern
Join IQVIA London as an Epidemiologist Intern in the Real-World Evidence and Methods Generation team and help us deliver high‑quality scientific research to our clients in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. The internship offered by the group is an arrangement where IQVIA aims to provide an entry-level candidate with an opportunity to apply their studies in a professional setting on live client projects related to their field of study.

All interns must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of their internship. Successful graduates of the internship programme will be considered for a permanent Analyst role.
Our goal is to contribute to the body of scientific evidence that allows medical practitioners to treat patients in the most effective way, and health systems to include as many patients as possible. We use data, collected for clinical and other purposes to answer research questions such as "which treatment works best in the real world, beyond the clinical trial setting?" Your primary responsibilities as an Epidemiologist Intern in our team will be wide ranging, but may involve:
- Supporting the design, execution or reporting of real-world database (RWD) studies
- Contributing to the writing of study protocols, and/or study reports
- Supporting the writing of proposals for RWD studies when requests for proposals are received from clients
- Supporting with developing abstracts, manuscripts or conference presentations for projects
- Contributing to internal initiatives for the advancement of innovative epidemiological approaches
- Completion of training in project delivery and real-world application of epidemiological or statistical methods
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- To be currently studying for (or recently completed) an MSc or equivalent in epidemiology, public health or in a related discipline
- Ideally, some experience designing and executing prospective or retrospective database studies
- Excellent time management skills, contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines
- Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines
- Strong verbal communication and scientific writing skills
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) – please submit your CV in English
Preferred Qualities
- Some exposure to the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industries
- Exposure to working with large, real-world healthcare databases
- Publications in peer reviewed journals and/or abstracts in scientific conferences
