Job description

Job Purpose
You will work with the International Summer School Manager in co-ordinating the International Summer School Programme and ensure its effective and efficient delivery to circa 700 undergraduate and high school international students. Furthermore, you will work with international partners and UoG course convenors to achieve positive outcomes and review, improve and develop the programme.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the day-to day running of the Summer School Programme. Liaise with other External Relations (ER) and wider University academic and support service staff to plan, develop and implement the Programme in Colleges/Schools, online and on the University of Glasgow (UofG) campus. Oversee the day-to-day running and evaluation of activities.
2. Responsible for setting up all ISS programmes/courses on MyCampus in compliance with University programme admission procedures.
3. Delegated line management responsibility for part-time seasonal admin staff and Student Assistants.
4. Liaise with MSDI, Registry and Admissions staff to ensure that the International Summer School application system is updated/set-up on an annual basis. Extract and manipulate data from applications to inform programme delivery and future planning.
5. Jointly with the International Summer School Manager, oversee the recruitment and training of Student Assistants for delivery of International Summer School activities.
6. Jointly conduct the planning, coordination, and implementation of on-campus sessions for International Summer School attendees. Liaise with appropriate internal and external contacts to ensure the smooth running of these events. Plan and coordinate activity logistics ensuring health and safety requirements are adhered to.
7. With the International Summer School Manager, monitor performance indicators, conduct regular evaluation of provision, compile reports for presentation as required and inclusion in Recruitment & International Relations reports, and ensure evaluation findings feed into medium and long-term action plans.
8. Responsible for managing several detailed, concurrent tasks and planning work accordingly
9. Deputise for the International Summer School Manager, when appropriate, in liaising and collaborating with staff from Colleges/Schools, international partner institutions and other stakeholders.
10. Working with the ISS Manager to plan the ISS marketing and online campaigns as well as social media.
11. Responsible for managing own complex and changing workload, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
12. Conduct other duties as required to support the International Summer School.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge/ Qualifications
Essential:
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Sound understanding of the learning skills required for study in Higher Education (HE).
A3 Knowledge and understanding of processes for raising purchase orders using Agresso or similar systems.
Desirable:
B1 Understanding of University policy and procedure relating to the recruitment and employment of staff.
B2 Understanding of government regulations relating to working with young adults.
B3 Understanding of University policy on Equality and Diversity procedures and policies.
B4 Knowledge of the University’s Admissions systems

Desirable:
F1 Experience of administration in a related field.
F2 Experience of dealing with student welfare issues and queries
F3 Project Administration.
F4 Experience of Agresso or University financial processes.
Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £31,502 - £35,308 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended.
