Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats is an entrepreneurial arms-length business focused on extending
the Mars brands into new chocolate categories beyond confectionery though external partners
(suppliers and distributors). The business currently operates in a number of categories: Milk Drinks,
Hot Chocolate, Cakes & Bakes, Desserts, Chocolate Spreads, Cake Mixes, and QSR across UK and Europe.
75% of the business turnover is generated from the UK despite the business having remit to operate throughout Europe and the Middle East. This role is a key enabler to deliver D&T growth ambition beyond the UK.

What will be your key responsibilities?
- Manage 4 distributor relationships across Europe and the Middle East delivering £15m NSV at over 32% GMAC p.a.
- Setting the strategy for future international growth (+15% growth p.a.) across Chocolate Spreads, Milk Drinks, Milk Snacks, Specialist Sports and Hot Chocolate
- Build strong partnerships with the Section Heads in each category.
- Identifying and deliver the international strategy to deliver the MCDT Plan
- Setting distributor objectives and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Identifying, qualifying, and appointing new distributors that will add value to my client’s international sales strategy.
- Work with distributors to ensure accurate forecasting
- Negotiating distribution agreements and pricing to ensure GMAC targets are achieved
- Manage trade spend, PR and marketing activities for the international channels.
- Identify and champion the optimum channels and product ranges for MCDT NSV generating model, delivering this via external comanufacturers and distributors.
- Identify and champion new markets and routes to market to expand the MCDT portfolio.
- Work with suppliers and sections teams to develop and deliver first class products to meet financial parameters.
