JOB PROFILE
Rotec Hydraulic Ltd, established in 1979 and part of the Rotec Hydraulics Group is seeking enthusiastic and motivated internal service centre sales engineer/depot assistant to apply a vacant position at our busy and growing service centre located at Plymouth.
Rotec Hydraulics Ltd is a specialist company providing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical services that include design, manufacturing, servicing and pipework solutions. The service centres support a wide variety of applications and markets, including marine, aerospace, utilities, mobile and industrial.
Rotec is seeking interest in applicants to support the continued growth of our Plymouth service.
We would also encourage applicants to apply who currently have either hydraulic or mechanical knowledge from ‘industry’ and would be interested in further developing their skills set. This may also suit applicants who currently work within the mobile hydraulic hose replacement sectors and would be looking for progression into an internal sales role position.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Key results areas)
- Work within the guidelines of the Company Quality Management System.
- Assist with the day to day running of the depot.
- Ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner, initiating the support of Sales Engineers/Sales and Marketing Director as necessary.
- Ensure that all goods are dispatched from the depot to fulfil the customers stipulated delivery requirements.
- Oversee the Trade Counter ensuring that customers are provided with a competent service.
- Sell company products and services.
- Ensure that telephone calls are answered efficiently and actioned in a timely manner.
- Support the administrative tasks within the sales office ensuring that documentation produced is accurate and in line with company procedures. This line of support may involve supervising your peers or raising actions with senior management.
- Maintain gross margins in line with company strategy.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide customer service support.
- Have a clear understanding of the company policies and vision and how the sales office contributes to these.
- Plan and assist with sales initiatives.
- Ensure that cleanliness and tidiness in the depot is always maintained to the Company’s standards.
- Provide assistance to staff from other depots when required (eg stock transfers etc).
- Ensure that stock is correctly booked in and put away in the correct location.
- Support, develop and implement new administrative systems such as record management.
- Comply with any reasonable request from the Depot Manager to carry out additional duties.
- Take advantage of any further product or personal development training opportunities.
- Report all property, equipment and communication issues to the Depot Manager or Director.
- Adhere to Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Attend conferences and training as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
(Knowledge, skills, experience)
- Basic knowledge of general engineering.
- Previous experience of working within a Hydraulic orientated company (desirable)
- Previous experience of work in a customer services role (desirable)
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (particularly WORD, Excel, and Outlook).
- Good understanding of hydraulic hose and fittings
- Good understanding of hydraulic components and systems
- BFPA Foundation Safety*
- BFPA Hose assembly Skills*
(*Would be an advantage although training will be given)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
