Your role and responsibilities

With a large, varied, and exciting Internal Medicine caseload, we are seeking one further colleague to join our ECVIM-CA Residency-training programme in July/August 2023.

Dick White Referrals is a state-of-the-art, private referral institution located in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of specialists, residents, and interns (anaesthesia, cardiology, cardiac surgery, clinical pathology, veterinary pathology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, and soft tissue surgery).

The successful candidate will work as part of our team of 5 Residents and receive direct training and supervision from our 5 ECVIM/ACVIM Diplomates and 2 Post residency clinicians. The Resident will also be supported by a team of 5 dedicated internal medicine nurses.

Dick White Referrals has modern equipment including 24/7 availability, an in-house laboratory and with on-site clinical pathologists, radiography, ultrasonography, echocardiography, MRI, CT and fluoroscopy. And the most exciting, we are expanding our facilities in 2023!

The successful candidate will benefit from both a busy and dynamic clinical environment and formal training. Residents will participate in hospital rounds, journal clubs, book clubs and are encouraged to attend continuing professional development sessions provided by senior members of staff and to be enrolled in research.

Applications

Applicants to the program will be selected on the basis of their written application (CV and covering letter), reference letters (2) and an interview. Applicants should have a 12-month rotating internship and ideally 2 years of experience in small animal practice. The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The successful candidate will be expected to start in Summer 2023 (exact date to be discussed).
