We’re looking for the next generation of talented undergraduates to join our team for an unforgettable 10-week internship. As one of our interns, you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team to support real-life projects that bring our products and services to life and are ready to launch to our learners. On-the-job training and professional development will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the 10-week program. What Does the Internship Program Offer?
Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our Workforce Skills Division in the summer months, a new division that offers many opportunities to innovate, design, and build new products, operations, and customer relationships in an entrepreneurial setting.
You will be paid for the duration of your internship at a salary from £23K pro rata. You will be eligible for benefits during this time like any other employee, such as discounts on learning resources, some well-known high street brands and of course some pro-rata holidays.
Job Description
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will develop expertise in software quality engineering practices, working collaboratively with the development teams within the Content Program. You will be helping Pearson test and maintain software systems that support the production of digital learning content utilizing modernized, team-oriented software testing tools and practices. This consists of UI / API automation, Microservice Architectures and Assessment Services.
What does the 10 weeks involve?
Interns will develop a broad knowledge of Software Quality Process within the Content Program at Pearson, working with teams developing, configuring, and testing systems and tools utilizing a variety of technologies.
Minimum Requirements
- We look for Students pursuing a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with software development / Quality Assurance or relevant work experience. We also look for Students pursuing a degree in computer science, cyber security, software engineering, information security, engineering, or technology.
- Students should also have a basic understanding of Cloud platforms, in particular AWS, Azure and/or Google. Experience in coding with Python or similar would be useful.
- Students should be a ‘people person’, well-rounded and happy to take on new challenges.
- Students should be able to understand Software Testing Life cycle and good in documentation
- A desire to learn and accept new challenges is important.
- Penultimate year of degree.
This is a Hybrid working position although there will be a requirement to travel to partners within the UK and to a Pearson London office on occasion.
