Etcembly is a next generation TCR design and engineering company at the intersection between Machine Learning and Drug Development.
The Pipeline Research group is recruiting for a dynamic and enthusiastic researcher to join the team as an Intern/Research Assistant in Molecular Biology. The appointment would be for a period of 12 months in the first instance, with the possibility of an extension.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development of an efficient workflow to facilitate the validation of the platform’s prediction outputs. You will be responsible for supporting various cross functional teams and contribute to the development of methodologies to generate, test and characterise novel TCR molecules as potential drug candidates. This is a wet-lab focused role, with a strong emphasis on molecular cloning, sequencing analyses and in vitro assays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the execution of various molecular cloning workstreams. This involves the application of a variety of recombinant DNA techniques such as PCR, Gibson assembly, plasmid preparation and sequencing analyses (Sanger and Next-Gen Sequencing)
- Support the completion of a range of in vitro biochemical and cellular assays
- Coordinate and prioritise scientific workstreams to ensure timely project delivery
- Contribute to the generation of new data and optimisation of strategies
- Assist in the ordering of supplies and consumables, and in preparation of necessary reagents to support work processes
- Documentation of experimental data, and communication of key results in scientific meetings
- Follow and write protocols and SOPs
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Completed, or be close to completion of a BSc or MSc in Life Sciences/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology (or equivalent discipline)
- Basic knowledge of molecular and cellular biology, and basic laboratory experience gained through undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies (further training will be provided on the job)
- A highly motivated individual who is invested in the success of the team
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
