Purpose of Job
- Support the work of the Country Risk team.
- Develop familiarity with key macroeconomic data sources to assist the team in credit decision making.
- Aid in the production of macroeconomic environment sections of several recurring briefing reports.
- Help manage the sovereign ratings spreadsheet.
- Draft external sovereign rating change summary emails.
- Assist in the maintenance and management of country risk data, and prepare spreadsheets to aid in the production of country risk reports.
- On occasion, help prepare initial drafts of some country risk reports.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support the work of the team under the guidance of an Associate Director in Country Risk team.
- Help assessing the country risk in countries where EBRD has funded projects.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- An academic background in Economics or similar with some understanding of official macroeconomic statistics.
- An interest in emerging markets.
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to extract insights from large datasets.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills are critical, while strong technical skills more broadly are beneficial.
- A robust attention to detail to ensure consistently accurate analysis.
- An ability to think independently and critically.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
