Job description

About us

The difference between good companies and great companies is their ability to execute strategy and deliver on their key initiatives. The pace of change for our clients has never been greater and Skarbek helps them to stay ahead of the game. Skarbek is an international strategy implementation and advisory firm, with a track record in value creation. We help clients to grow and compete successfully and sustainably by seeing and seizing strategic initiatives.

Whether it’s planning and managing a complex cross-functional project, new product development and launch, business transformation, or growth from innovation, we help you to simplify the complex to build a plan to deliver your objectives with clarity and confidence.

Skarbek primarily works in strategy implementation in the life sciences and FMCG sectors, though we handle other sectors as well. We look at problems from first principles and therefore we do not deliver templated solutions. Our deliverables are not slides, but strategy turned into outcomes.

Our name and inspiration comes from Krystyna Skarbek, the Second World War secret agent, known for her unwavering commitment, creative resourcefulness and appetite to take on and succeed in even the most difficult missions.

Not everyone gets the opportunity to work alongside an eclectic mix of exceptional consultants with a rich leadership background in their fields of expertise who are working within Skarbek Associates helping leading organisations across a range of sectors including Pharmaceuticals & Consumer Healthcare, FMCG, Luxury & Beauty, Legal and Finance (many of whom are well-known household names).

We are looking for equally exceptional work placement students to support our effort in client assignment delivery. On this journey you will have a rare opportunity to learn from our seasoned experts, gain new insights into the world of strategy execution, project and portfolio management and learn about the use of technology to deliver best solutions to our clients. This is a unique and exciting opportunity.

The successful student will be working at the heart of this exciting, disruptive, fast-paced consultancy, be involved in many aspects of our business including strategy, marketing, new service development, business development, back-office operations, and creative problem solving for our clients. One of our students found themselves with the corporate executive team of an energy major on day 2 with us.

We are committed to developing young talent, with the possibility of progressing to be a junior consultant or project manager within Skarbek or with your enhanced skills to use as a springboard to a successful career elsewhere.

We’re looking for someone who’s smart, conscientious, ambitious, motivated to learn and excel at everything they do. You will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a ‘can do’ attitude with both the ability and strong drive to deliver.

This role is designed to support Skarbek Associates Management Team with a range of activities looking to build the value of our services and delivery to clients, as well as organisational capability to boost effectiveness in project delivery.
