THE ROLE
The Intermediate Interior Designer is responsible for assisting in the design deliverables from start to close of project. You are a good fit for this role if you are organized, personable, intelligent, logical, hard working, reliable, flexible, and self-motivated.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work closely with the Principal on all design projects from concept to completion
- Assist in selection and presentation of FF&E and hard finishes
- Prepare drawings - furniture plans, elevations - to communicate design intent
- Assist in managing scope, scheduling, and budget requirements of each project
- Review and approve samples, PO’s, submittals and shop drawings
- Assist with purchasing and expediting when needed
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal team
- As needed, represent studio at meetings with clients, architects, contractors and vendors; organize and attend installations; relay relevant information to design team
- Oversee process of gathering quotes; prepare proposals and review for accuracy; prepare proposal packages for submission to clients
- Work with junior staff in the tracking and coordination of all reserves, CFA’s, lead times, inspections, deliveries, and installations; ensure review of CFA’s and merchandise inspection for approval with vendor and client
- Participate in weekly design/project reviews with design team
- Maintain all project-related information in electronic folders and in Studio Designer
- Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the studio and samples library
- Timely and accurate time tracking and entry into Studio Designer
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in Interior Design or Architecture
- Working knowledge of Studio Designer a plus
- Working knowledge in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp or other similar design software a plus
- Must have a sense of urgency in correspondence and deliverables
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Experience and ability to manage job site visits, meetings at the Design Center, and other out-of-office project needs
- Reliable car and valid driver’s license to go to and from project sites, showrooms, meetings, etc.
- Local to San Rafael, CA or the surrounding areas
COMPENSATION + BENEFITS
- $75,000 - $90,000/year, depending on experience
- 10 days vacation/personal PTO accrued for the first year of employment
- SIMPLE IRA matching
- Flexible Work Schedule (Hybrid of Local Remote and In-Studio Work)
- We offer the flexibility to Work From Home but you must be local and willing to commute to our Studio when needed.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
