Interior Designer – Full Time (Edinburgh & Glasgow)
Oberlanders Architects is seeking an interior designer to join our growing team in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Oberlanders is a multi-award winning architectural practice with studios in Ardgay, Edinburgh, Galashiels, Glasgow, Inverness and Oxford. Handling projects in a variety of sectors, throughout the UK, Ireland and occasionally on sites in mainland Europe, we combine excellence in design with technical and management expertise. Providing the highest architectural standards and practical skills, our practice values are to listen, create and deliver, seeking where possible to exceed our client’s expectations. We have a staff of over 75 working as an integrated unit across all six studio locations.
We are seeking a highly talented individual to join our busy team to work on a portfolio of high quality contemporary interiors. Your role will involve working at all stages from concept to completion, across an exciting range of high quality, innovative projects being serviced from all six of our studios. The job will be based in the Edinburgh or Glasgow office with the option of hybrid working on completion of the probationary period. You will be expected to travel to construction sites and, on occasion, between all our studio locations.
Education and experience
You should have relevant qualifications such as a BA interior design, a BA architectural interior design or similar. Ideally you should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience.
We’d particularly like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:
· A proven track record of experience in high quality interior design/interior architecture.
· An excellent understanding of construction and manufacturing of projects.
· Experience in running projects will be an advantage.
· Ability to create and develop design concepts in conjunction with the architectural team and as stand alone projects.
· Ability to work in a consultancy environment with a strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
· Experience of FF&E selection, budgeting, scheduling and procurement.
· Effective time management, resourcing and managing the project team.
· Experience, working knowledge and understanding in AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, InDesign.
· Experience in producing creative content, drawings, models, images, material and mood boards and other documents relating to the design.
· Self-motivated but also a good team player.
