Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

All our recruitment at Companies House uses the Civil Service Success Profiles framework, which will assess your behaviours, strengths and experience. Our recruitment process is underpinned by recruitment which is fair and open with decisions made on merit, as outlined in the Civil Service Commissioners’ Recruitment Principles.

In your application form we’d like you to:

  • Tell us about your employment history, including key responsibilities and achievements.
  • We’d like you to write a personal statement of 1000 words where you tell us about why you’d be great for this role – we'd like you to particularly include your experience and skills that match what we’ve asked for in the person specification and also tell us about how you can evidence the behaviours we’ve included in the advert.
  • We'd also like you to write 250 words where you tell us about a time you have made an effective decision in an intelligence environment. If we get a high volume of applications we will carry out a pre-sift by reading and scoring these 250 words.

You can find more guidance on completing your application here. We’re committed to being diverse and inclusive, so please make your application anonymous by removing all identifying personal information (such as names and dates) from your employment history and personal statement.

What will the process look like?

  • If we receive a high number of applications, we will carry out a pre-sift based on the 250 words you write about a time you've made an effective decision in an intelligence environment. Candidates who are successful at pre-sift stage will progress to the main sift where we will read and score the rest of the application form.
  • If we don't receive a high number of applications we will consider the 250 words you write about a time you've made an effective decision in an intelligence environment, as part of the main sift.
  • Successful candidates at main sift will be invited to interview, where we’ll explore your skills, experiences, the behaviours mentioned in the advert and your strengths.
