Job description

Senior Intelligence Development and Investigations Manager
Glasgow

As a Barclays Senior Intelligence Development and Investigations (IDI) Manager, you will be joining our Financial Crime team within the Compliance services, leading the execution of the IDI’s core objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a knowledgeable team, where you will be playing a key role to accomplish the IDI’s mission, by mitigating the most serious, systemic financial crime risks and threats facing Barclays and its financial system, through an intelligence-led approach.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?
  • Managing teams responding to multiple complex and high-profile financial crime investigations
  • Supporting the delivery of the core objectives, ensuring the identified areas of priority across all IDI ongoing projects are resourced appropriately
  • Spearheading the development of profiles to proactively identify customers of concern, and understanding the extent of exposure to risks
  • Providing excellent stakeholder engagement, enabling senior and key stakeholders to successfully discharge their accountabilities
  • Ensuring the outcomes from intelligence and investigations led activity are embedded in the business
  • Working collaboratively with external partners where required in relation to specific investigations and maintaining close contact with both internal and external partners
  • Fulfilling all disclosure obligations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and Terrorism Act 2000
  • Managing ad hoc project works as well as preparing reports on sensitive cases

What we’re looking for:
  • Fluency in English language, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, in order to build and maintain solid relationships with our stakeholders
  • A highly organised and structured leader, with efficient people management skills
  • Proven technical expertise in the field of financial crime investigations and intelligence development
  • Experience of working with volume datasets (e.g., Big Data analysis), being able to manage complex issues across business units and jurisdictions

Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Diploma level qualification or equivalent in Financial Crime
  • Knowledge of the use of Quantexa or other network-generating software

Where will you be working?
Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration. A place where everyone can bring their true selves to work and reach their full potential. Home to 5,000 of our colleagues, our Tradeston campus will support the community in more ways than one - by creating thousands of new career opportunities and celebrating local artists. A short walk from Central Station on the south of the Clyde, it will be a key location for the Barclays business that will deepen our ties with the city and its communities.
