Full Time London, England 49500 - 57900 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

disguise sits at the heart of the most inspiring live and virtual experiences in the world, leading the market in building a software and hardware solution that designs, sequences and controls the most spectacular productions across film and TV, broadcast, live and corporate events.

We are looking for a System Integration Engineer to support the growing ecosystem of disguise products working closely with QA, software and hardware teams. This is a full-time position based in Southwark, London, with the opportunity for a hybrid working pattern (your time split between home and the office)

Our users depend on disguise's continued innovation, but most importantly they depend on disguise's reliability and performance. Our core platform consists of a windows-based server with custom OS to deliver the optimal UX and reliability to our customer base. You will work on integrating testing for disguise hardware and the systems it is built on. This includes the creation and ongoing development of our custom OS images, 3rd party drivers/firmware and undertaking performance assessments of potential upcoming hardware components.

What you will do:

  • Develop robust and sustainable systems for integration of tailored Windows Operating Systems onto bespoke hardware
  • Design and implement systems, process and automation solutions to enable deployment and testing for our integrated hardware.
  • Maintain and improve the OS for Windows based disguise platforms using WSIM, ADK and similar tools.
  • Work closely with a team of support engineers to help solve technical hardware issues on some of the biggest shows globally

Experience we are looking for:

  • Windows imaging using ADK, WinPE and WDS
  • Networking understanding: SDN, VLANs, multicast networking, managed network switches.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages, for example: C, C#, C++, Python
  • Familiarity with standard and computer busses: PCIe, USB, Ethernet, LVDS, SPI, I2C, GPIO.
  • Powershell scripting in a Microsoft environment (or a desire to learn!)
  • Understand (to a base level) object-oriented programming concepts and functional programming concepts

Skills, behaviour and values we are looking for:

  • Clear communication, both verbal and written
  • Excellent attention to detail, when writing and reviewing code
  • Enjoy problem solving complex issues with a curious and inquisitive mind
  • Technically competent and interested in building out a product (ie, what the product should do, what else can make the product great)
  • Collaborative, working with the team to build a product and knowledge share
  • Pragmatic in the way you approach writing code
  • Passionate to expand your knowledge
  • Resilience to keep experimenting

About disguise

Building on our two-decade legacy in the live event space, where our workflow has powered global concert tours for artists like U2 and Beyoncé, festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury and theatre productions like Frozen and Harry Potter, we are also now leading the way in Extended Reality (xR) for remote Virtual Production.

Our award-winning xR workflow has enabled over 300 productions in the past 12 months, for music artists such as Katy Perry and Billie Eilish, broadcast TV channels like ITV and Eurosport, enterprise businesses like SAP and Siemens, educational institutions like the University of Michigan and notable VFX studios like Framestore and DNEG.

We partner closely with Epic Games, NVIDIA, Netflix and many more to further develop and democratize our virtual production solution and enable teams anywhere to create their best story with the most innovative tools.

With offices in London, LA, Auckland, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul and Tokyo, we are a fast-growing company that hires bright, creative, talented individuals across the world to push the boundaries of visual experiences and build lasting relationships with our community.

We were delighted to be recognized as one of the Financial Times' top 1000 fastest growing businesses for 2021. Watch our showreel to see just some of the incredible work of how disguise products are used
