Job description
- Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions using Azure Synapse pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into target systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Build and configure Azure Data Factory pipelines, activities, and data flows to orchestrate and automate data movement and transformation processes.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across integrated systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data integration processes, ensuring efficient data movement and transformation with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with data architects and developers to design and implement data models, schemas, and structures for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Conduct data mapping and transformation exercises to align data sources with target schemas and formats.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in data integration, Azure services, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Identify and mitigate data integration risks and issues, ensuring adherence to data governance and security standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, assisting with complex data integration challenges and issues.
- 3 or more years experience building Azure Synapse pipelines and strong expertise in Azure Data Factory.
- Sound understanding of data integration principles, data migration processes, and ETL methodologies.
- Proficiency in working with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data formats (e.g., CSV, JSON, XML).
- Experience in designing and implementing efficient data storage and retrieval strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and exposure to Azure services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob Storage).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and data security practices is a plus.
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
