In a nutshell
In this role, you’ll deliver the strategic direction of the annual & quarterly planning for Insurances. Your ability to translate insight into knowledge and action, will support the successful delivery of growth and profitability targets, putting the customer at the heart of our plans to optimise existing products, and in the development and distribution of new Financial Services propositions.
You’ll manage the team to best in class customer journeys ensuring sustainable growth of the strategy. Management of the vision, strategy, roadmap and delivery of a backlog of features for insurances. The role will also be responsible for annual and quarterly planning of budgets.
What you need to do
- Support the Strategy & Digital Experience Lead in the generation of the customer strategy
- Management of the annual and quarterly plan process and strategic narrative
- Support development of the customer strategy for Insurances through the use of research, customer data and analysis to ensure we are the bank for Sainsburys customers
- Manage the team in order to deliver against Insurance P&L and strategic objectives.
- Keep abreast of the latest Insurtech to spot and explore opportunities at pace
- Support idea generation across the insurance department to ensure collaboration and delivery of our strategic objectives
- Drive a data-led & customer approach within insurances
- Deliver the insurance customer narrative through use of our market & customer insight
- Building relationships with group, marketing, data science and wider teams
- Design customer propositions which will optimise FS participation in the retail customer journey and make it easier for Sainsburys shoppers to choose us when they are in the market
What you need to know and show
- Knowledge and experience of strategy delivery within insurance
- Experience in stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and conflict management skills including a proven ability to influence at a Senior Management level
- Demonstrates competence in all key areas of management and leadership – communication, motivation/delegation, financial planning and control, quality management, risk analysis and delivery
- Experienced in customer segmentation, statistical analysis & qualitative & quantitative research
- Planning experience with understanding on optimisation and ROI
- Digital & marketing experience with in channel knowledge
- Fundamental marketing and commercial data expertise
- Strong relationship management and team development skills
- Project management skills in complex and multi-functional projects
- Experience understanding and optimising how to improve business performance with a constant focus on customers
- Strong awareness of the control environment in within financial services, with awareness of conduct risk – specifically regarding the outcome of fair customer outcomes
- Tracking, reporting and optimising digital & business KPIs
