The Insurance Investment Team (IIT) sits within the UK Life Insurance Consulting and Technology (“ICT”) line of business but covers both Life and P&C insurers for the UK and beyond. A specialist consulting team dedicated to designing and providing investment solutions for insurers representing a key growth area for ICT, providing a range of investment services for mainly UK and EMEA insurers and asset managers. We use our deep analytical skills to solve practical business problems, applying the latest techniques to help clients measure and manage investment risk and capital, grow revenue and create a competitive advantage. As a leading technology provider WTW also offers the potential for the IIT Team to develop new and innovative software solutions as tools and accelerators for our advisory offering. Within IIT we also work closely with the WTW Investment practice who provide significant investment expertise and manager research.

As a member of the team you will be making a valuable difference every day to our high-profile client organization by:
- Assisting our client base with all aspects of investment life-cycle when considering increasing the breadth of investment into long-term Private Assets to support growing volumes of new Bulk Purchase Annuity business: asset origination, valuation, matching adjustment eligibility including restructuring where required e.g. for Equity Release Mortgages, internal rating methodology development, credit modelling within Solvency II Internal Models, Credit Model Validation
- Improving risk-adjusted returns (including asset allocation / model validation);
- Implementation of portfolio solutions and use of data analytics to enhance understanding and portfolio monitoring capability;
- Matching adjustment portfolio management / optimisation;
- Continuing development, maintenance and sale of our Strategic Asset Allocation software solution: Optimum SAA;
- Advising on the proposed Solvency II reforms and potential implications of these for capital management and investment strategies
- Outsourced Investment Office capability
- Enhanced governance and risk management
As a Director you would be expected to take a lead role with the management and oversight of larger and more complex projects as well as taking ownership for proposition and new business development.
The Requirements:
- Experience in a consulting firm, asset manager, Life or P&C insurance firm or other relevant financial services organisation:
- Experience of modelling complex credit products, particularly for internal models or similar, such as commercial real estate, infrastructure and other illiquid credit assets commonly held by insurers.
- Experience or interest in selling projects to insurance / financial institutions.
- Depth of experience in ALM, Solvency II regulation, and investment for insurers.
- A track record of performing relevant work as well as the ability to contribute to client engagements.
- Proven experience successfully managing projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support new business generation.
- Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills.
- Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity; flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues and strong analytical skills.
- Enjoyment of training and mentoring junior staff.
- The ability to see the big picture, leveraging the resources of related practices to address our clients' business challenges.
- An interest in the commercial impact of business generation, project delivery and team productivity within the consulting environment.
- Availability to travel on an as needed basis, domestically and internationally.
- FIA/FFA , CFA qualification or equivalent and demonstrable, strong amount of relevant work experience
- Strong MS Office knowledge; experience of relevant investment and modelling software an advantage.
