Insurance, Audit and Risk Team
This exciting part-time (0.8 FTE) post is available from 17 April 2023 on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on our Streatham Campus and some from home.
This is an exciting opportunity for those who have previous insurance experience, looking to join a team which supports insurance arrangements for the University of Exeter.
A strong working knowledge of insurance principles is required, with the ability to match insurable needs to relevant products/policies, and to handle claims arising. An understanding of policy wording and the ability to explain this to those not familiar with it is essential and previous knowledge of broker relationships is desirable. Candidates would have or be working towards Cert CII qualification or have equivalent experience.
What would the average day look like?
Being part of the University community, in a great team on a beautiful campus, your average day in this post may include:
- Communicating effectively to work with the individual requesting the insurance to understand the risk, and liaise with the insurance broker/insurer to obtain a suitable quote.
- Undertake ongoing engagement with areas requiring insurance due to project work, to raise awareness of potential issues and encourage early engagement to prevent delays close to project start dates.
- As a subject matter expert, supporting queries relating to cover around matters such as construction, research and clinical trials, good in transit, international travel, motor, public and employers liability.
- Supporting the Insurance, Audit and Risk Manager with corporate functions such as insurance tenders / renewal and data analysis
