We are seeking someone who is genuinely interested in Insurance for this newly created role, where collaboration, governance, processes, and transparency are key to the team’s success. The Insurance Analyst role is responsible for delivering the single source of the truth for all liability and property claims, supporting seamless integration and close collaboration with key stakeholders across Heathrow.
As Insurance Analyst, you will help define, shape, and influence key strategic choices and decisions supporting Heathrow’s annual insurance programme renewals with specific regard to liability, property, and motor classes. You’ll be responsible for obtaining and analysing asset and activity data through a comprehensive, companywide engagement programme – this is pivotal as part of Heathrow’s annual insurance renewal process. And you will devise and implement the claims management strategy for Heathrow which forms a key input into the wider Insurance Purchasing strategy.
In this varied and hands-on role, you will be responsible for all claims’ activities focussing on the management and reporting; you will gain a detailed understanding of each claim and will ensure all claims’ processes and procedures are rigorously updated and documented.
Your role will involve:
- Claims Management - investigating claims, undertake causation/ control analysis and preparing claims defence packs for litigation, developing intelligence on claims activities, and investigating root causes and market trends.
- Reporting - designing and delivering timely reports for stakeholders, including insightful, error-free claims bordereaux, root cause analyses and reviews of control environments.
- Insurance programme renewal - identifying and understanding critical activities, risks, and insurance requirements; managing premium payment processes as part of the annual premium budgeting and forecasting cycle; collation, analysis, and submission of underwriting data in line with the insurance renewal strategy; creating claims triangulation statistics through forensic analysis and interrogation of claims data.
- Risk Financing and Renewal Strategy – conducting claims analysis, gap analysis of insurance cover and deliver the Risk Engineering programme through site surveys and Probable Maximum Loss/ Maximum Foreseeable Loss modelling. Deliver the Insurance Valuation programme through prioritisation of asset criticalities and provide claims analysis to support Management in the creation of the annual renewal strategy with brokers and the business
These skills are essential:
- Previous Insurance experience and a genuine interest in Insurance is essential – including an understanding of principles of insurance and practical application with liability/ property lines
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential: ability to engage, network and influence key stakeholders
- Strong analytical experience is required: eye for detail, problem solving, compliance with time-critical deadlines
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience of claims litigation processes
- Experience with the development of reports and databases (including Sharepoint)
- Insurance: knowledge of aviation liability & Contractors All Risks insurance
- Insurance Qualification: CertCII, DipCII (or at least an interest in working towards attaining this qualification)
