The Cube STEM School offers a creative, innovative learning environment where technology and design meet. At The Cube, we specialize in STEM education for teens and kids, with four primary disciplines: video game design, programming, robotics, and digital Art & media. We aim to provide students in our camps with various technology subjects, helping them develop their creative and technical skills.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in teaching, a passion for helping others learn, and the ability to create engaging lessons that foster student growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering courses, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to help students reach their goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that are in accordance with the curriculum.
- Create a positive learning environment for students.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
- Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Provide guidance to students on academic and personal matters.
- Stay up-to-date with current teaching methods and trends.
Minecraft instructor candidates must be able to:
- Confidently lead in-game activities in Minecraft's Java Edition (Creative & Survival)
- Teach themed Creative building challenges through hands-on examples and instruction (including Redstone)
- Collaborate with campers in Survival to achieve a productive end result
- Prepare new activity plans in advance and adapt programming on the go to suit camper needs
- Create documentation of in-game activities and accomplishments via pictures and short write-ups for parents
- Troubleshoot Minecraft server connectivity issues
- Handle classroom management for groups of children with varying experience levels
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.50 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON M4E 3V3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- teaching: 1 year (preferred)
