Job description
We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of Sewing+DIY Instructors. Our Junior Level Instructors are responsible for teaching a variety of skills sets to students from Ages 8-16 and must have excellent communication and public speaking skills; and must be comfortable leading small group classes.
The ideal candidates for this position have experience working with a sewing machine and following patterns and tutorials for various projects. Individuals currently studying fashion design, garment construction, or similar programs are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Experience working with teens and kids in other settings (camp leaders, tutoring, mentoring, recreational coaching or instruction, etcetera) is an asset.
We offer our team flexible work schedules. Ideal for those seeking part-time hours, or a position that will support changing personal or school schedules, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Teach introductory and intermediate level sewing programs following our course syllabus.
- Teach private and or semi-private lessons as scheduled.
- General studio maintenance before, during and after classes or lessons (putting away fabric, supplies, and tools; general sweep of the floors; sanitizing and cleaning tables and machines)
- Reporting any student needs, issues, or concerns to the studio manager
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 6-10 per week
Salary: $16.50-$20.00 per hour
