Content & Curriculum Specialist
Reports to: CEO & CTO
Department: Product Development
This is a full time position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief
Technology Officer. The primary function of the Content & Curriculum Specialist is to create and develop programming for use on the Fledge platform. This educational professional will be responsible for gathering and analyzing research practical methods that strengthen mental health at different stages of development.
Using research findings and examining approaches through education, psychology, neuroscience and wellness, the Content and Curriculum Specialist will translate concepts to practical activities that can be connected to Provincial Educational Wellness Curriculum outcomes. The C & C Specialist is responsible for planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities and works closely with the Fledge Development Team to communicate the vision and execution for each activity.
The Content & Curriculum Specialist will play a key role in promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement across teams and supporting the use of innovative approaches to education across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
● Conducts learning needs assessments for a variety of user groups
● Collaborates with Educators, Early Childhood Development Specialists, Mental Health
Professionals and other subject matter experts in the development and implementation of innovative and relevant activities and education programs
● Creates and maintains a database of relevant research used to support the design and creation of each activity in addition to consulting with Fledge research advisors and
Lead Research Supervisor
● Evaluates education curriculum and courses and promote continuous improvement in platform activities and programming
● Uses a project management approach to deliver excellence in curriculum and activity development and delivery, including monitoring and managing tasks and timelines to ensure deliverables are developed and implemented according to requirements
● Creates and communicates activity construction to the Development Team and works with UX/UI to ensure seamless user experience
● Representation of Fledge as an organization in a professional manner including public speaking, participation in industry panels, interviews and other events
● Compile annual and ad hoc reports
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications/experience:
● Bachelors Degree in Education, Psychology, or Neuroscience
● Post-undergraduate degree, certificate or diploma in eLearning, or other relevant field preferred
● Minimum of 3 years experience in eLearning development and education
● Demonstrated ability to assess/evaluate learning needs of children ages 3-18
● Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of eLearning programs
● Experience with project management
● Effective verbal and written communication to successfully work with all levels of the organization
● Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
● Excellent work performance and attendance
● Experience with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Drive, Slack preferred
