Position Scope
Work within the Learning & Development team to provide a suite of internal and external training of the CMiC product and modules. The role of Junior Instructional Designer will be to help plan, create, and implement training materials and courses. This also involves some aspects of an E-Learning Developer and Graphic Designer. Individuals applying for this position must have a professional demeanor, experience in content design, and the ability to adapt to growing and changing content.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design course content from raw source material. This can include learning strategies, objectives, blueprints/storyboard, scripts, course content, assessments, and experiential learning activities
- Set instructional end goals and create content that supports them
- Develop and provide training materials (worksheets, guides, quizzes, etc.), learning curriculum, modules, programs, and activities as outlined in the design documentation
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, gamification, etc.)
- Create E-learning courses containing a variety of training materials
- Maintain training database to stay current and refreshed as required
Requirements
- Ability to create a lesson plan, visualize the execution, and the lessons' role in a greater curriculum
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple training assignments under tight deadlines
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
- Keen eye for design as well as detail
- Exceptional team (and self-testing) quality assurance, processes, and execution
- Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills to work within the team
- Ability to identify opportunities and present solutions in a timely manner
- Aptitude to learn new technology, products, and concepts
- Experience working in Articulate 360, both Storyline and Rise, is a must
- Experience creating SCORM files or other e-learning content is a must
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is an asset
- Knowledge of education and adult learning is an asset
- Knowledge and experience with CMiC is an asset
