POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Dean of Information Technology, the Instructional Design Manager position is an exciting role at the university supporting instruction and learning. Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day work load of department staff, managing and keeping the department's knowledgebase up-to-date, supporting virtual course space design, developing and delivering a wide range of training, overseeing the department's recording studio, staff recruitment and evaluation and participating in office planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-to-day management of the university's instructional design services, including managing the work load of department staff.
- Working directly with faculty members to design virtual course spaces.
- Manage the university's Online Learning Knowledgebase for faculty.
- Oversee faculty virtual resources' onboarding, including developing and delivering group trainings, individual consultations and drop-in support.
- Oversee the management of the university's video recording assets for creating online instructional artifacts.
- Manage special instructional design projects from needs analysis to delivery.
- Manage department recruitment and employee performance.
- Participate in office planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range:
$74k - $111k

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A graduate degree from a regionally accredited university, six credit hours (semester equivalent) of curriculum related courses.
- Ability to work with a virtual team in an often fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Detailed oriented.
- Ability to apply emotional intelligence in communication.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and providing technology training.
- Experience in a higher education environment; knowledge of higher education organizational structure.
- 2-3 years of instructional design experience with Canvas LMS.
- Knowledge of WSCUS guidelines for course planning.
- Experience developing assessment artifacts for online courses.
- Experience working with HTML, video media formats and Microsoft Office.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience using Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of Canvas LMS Mastery Paths.
- Experience supporting faculty instructing graduate level courses (knowledge of academic level appropriate course design).
- Experience working with Azure dev ops or other agile SCRUM project management platforms.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Occasional work performed alone with ability to work remotely from time-to-time. Collaboration and constant work around and with other people.
LOCATION
Regular on-campus hours.

Working Conditions - Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.
