About Ice Park Ltd
Ice Park is an established and dynamic company who specialise in the supply and installation of temporary ice rinks across the UK. Our company is based in in the beautiful countryside of South Oxfordshire.
Due to our continued year after year success in our market, we urgently require a ‘Level 1’ Installation Technician for immediate start to take undertake installations of temporary ice rinks, primarily in the UK. No experience necessary, training will be provided. Hard working and motivated individuals will have the opportunity to grow within the organization.
We are a small but fast-growing company which requires a motivated self-starting individual that likes to ‘get things done’ by working well as a team and when left to their own devices. Christmas Ice Rinks requires the installation of ice rink hardware, so you will need to be physically fit and occasionally be prepared to work some irregular hours and overnight stays (during our busy Christmas season during November & January only generally). Its full on during the Christmas season but it’s a wonderful sense of achievement when you see the beautiful ice rink ready to hand over the excited customer.
Our clients expect a quality product and perfect installation every time. The events are ticketed and therefore total staff commitment to making sure the event is ready on time is essential.
During the off-peak season, you will be involved in the repair and reconditioning of all our equipment and also spend time assembling new ice rinks and building other items from wood. This is essentially a practical skills position, and you will be reporting to the Installations & Logistics Manager. Additionally, you may be required to attend customer site visits during the off-peak season in order to assist in assessing the feasibility of the site and meeting the clients team.
For the right candidate a ‘Level 2 - Lead Technician’ role is achievable in a short time and this position involves leading the installation of ice rinks on site.
This is a very varied hands-on role; daily duties can change often with changing priorities and different tasks almost every day. There is a real buzz around our business, and we feel this is a particularly interesting time to join us.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate would need to be prepared to travel the whole of UK and although travel outside the UK is unlikely, the candidate must be prepared for the possibility.
- Be prepared to work irregular hours as necessary in order to install our products and to support our list of blue-chip clients during winter high season.
- Good communication with suppliers and sub-contractors is an essential skill.
- Ability to work to deadlines for ticketed events where time is of the essence.
- Learn to read blueprints, plans and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Safely operate and maintain basic installation tools and equipment.
- Take direction from supervisors.
- Work with teammates to accomplish tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures as required.
- Work on a commercial construction job site in all weather conditions
- Complete OSHA 10 or 30 annual certification provided by Everything Ice.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Some travel required Nov / Jan within UK. Occasionally outside these times
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Be involved in keeping our warehouse in proper organised order.
Qualities
- Attention to detail.
- Punctuality is essential.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written is essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as work instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to follow directions and work independently while paying attention to detail.
- Ability to speak effectively and interact with team members and leadership.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in a situation.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Flexible in job duties.
- Operate a variety of standard power tools.
- Demonstrate accuracy in measuring using various instruments.
- Willingness to learn and retain information.
Qualifications:
- GCSE level education preferred but basic literacy and numeracy is required.
- Some experience in construction / installations (Preferred).
- Valid UK driving license (Essential)
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires kneeling, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry.
- Very occasionally requires working in outside during November / January only (note almost all most of our installations are inside).

- Competitive annual salary with profit share scheme after qualifying period.
