An exciting opportunity has arisen within Rolls-Royce Engine Overhaul services to join the team as an Inspector .
Our Engine Overhaul Services facility in Derby is the only wholly owned large civil engine overhaul base in the network. We maintain and overhaul up to 40 different customers engines across multiple different engine types including but not limited to Trent 1000, 7000, Trent 1000- TEN, Trent 97 and 84 .
In your role as an Inspector, you will work alongside Fitters on strip and build activities of Rolls-Royce Trent jet engines, ensuring all fitted engine parts and components are serviceable or receive the right maintenance plan. You will be capable of understanding engineering drawings, interpreting manufacturing and customer drawings and written specifications. Equally, we are looking for team members who are flexible, have an adaptable approach to meet ever-changing business requirements and can work as part of a team to resolve quality issues.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
- Inbound inspections.
- Engine boroscoping
- Sentence inspection.
- Build and despatch inspection activities.
- Release of components to service.
- Occasional off-site inspection duties which may include the need to travel

- Applicants will be time served and have completed an engineering modern advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent. To support your application please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
- Able to understand engineering drawings and/or engine manuals
- Knowledge of SAP and PC literate
- Experience of component or engine inspection
- Borescope inspection approval would be advantageous.
