Restructuring & Forensics
In Restructuring & Forensics we focus on supporting our clients through the Protect and Recover stages of the business cycle. We combine restructuring services such as financial restructuring, liability restructuring and corporate simplification with Digital and Forensic Investigations and Financial Crime teams. We support clients in stress or distress situations, seeking to support them to respond, restructure and transform, as well as prepare for, respond to and emerge stronger from a wide range of business risks and issues.. We could be involved in any one, or all of these types of engagements.
About the role
You will be involved in the claims agreement and dividend processes for a portfolio of insolvency cases, often with competing priorities, agreeing budgets and strategies and driving the claims adjudication and dividend processes, often within tight timeframes. Adjudicating high volume portfolios, including high value claims from across all industry sectors. You will work with a diverse population of creditors, including banks, landlords, HMRC, Redundancy Payments Service as well as sole traders, consumer creditors and individuals. You will work closely with and develop and maintain relationships with other PwC teams.
Your responsibilities:
Advising clients internal and external on claiming procedures and proposing solutions to adjudication challenges
Defining and obtaining relevant documentation to validate claims
Applying relevant legislation in the resolution of claims (including insolvency, employment and data protection legislation)
Assessing claims and submitting detailed and comprehensive adjudication rationale for upward review
Preparing and submitting statutory documentation and formal notices within tight legally defined timeframes.
Making distributions from insolvent estates (both preferential and unsecured) in accordance with legislation and dealing with payment exceptions
Arrange and review sanction screening, seeking additional information as necessary
Managing multiple and varied risks including sanctions, GDPR and potential financial risks from missed or inappropriate claim adjudication

Essential skills:
Strong understanding of the insolvency rules that apply to the claims process
Strong knowledge of the basic and more complex aspects of IPS and the Creditor Portal (both for trade creditors and employees)
Understanding of employee entitlements including tax implications and the impact of employment tribunals
Proactive and organised, able to plan, prioritise and delegate
Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable communicating with all levels (internal and external)
Strong commercial and business acumen
Good excel skills
Ability to multitask, and willing to challenge and question
Desirable skills:
Familiarity with Google suite a bonus, but not essential
Where you will be working:
Your office location will be Cardiff, However, we work with a great diversity of clients, in locations both in and outside the UK. There may be occasions where travel is required, to ensure you are at the heart of the project with the wider Restructuring & Forensics team.
With an increasingly agile workforce, we're open to flexible working requirements and have many successful arrangements currently in place that flex from the standard 5 day week. We’re very open to discussing this further at the interview stage.
